MiYO Floor Care and Maintenance
Cleaning and Such
- As you normally would, sweep or vacuum your MiYO regularly to remove loose dirt that can scratch it. Don’t use a vacuum cleaner with a beater bar because it’ll beat up your MiYO’s surface. Also, stay away from electric brooms with unpadded hard plastic bottoms because they can discolor and/or de-gloss your MiYO floor.
- Wash your floor regularly with a vinyl floor cleaner. We recommend
Armstrong Once 'n Done Floor Cleaner, of course.
- Don't use detergents, abrasive cleaners,
or “mop and shine” products because
they might leave a dull film on your floor.
- If your MiYO's shine ever begins to dull over time, it's
easy to fix. Just use Armstrong Shinekeeper Floor Polish to
renew its shine. Paste wax and solvent-based polishes are a
definite no-no.
- Your MiYO floor can be slippery when wet. So, after you wash
the floor, stay off it until it’s dry and, of course, wipe up spills, wet foot prints,
etc. right away. Never use an abrasive scrubbing tool.
Your MiYO Floor is tough, but it has its limits. Here are tips for not pushing them.
- If you have to move an appliance or heavy furniture, lay a
plywood panel on your floor and “walk” the item across
it. This’ll protect your floor from scuffs and tears.
- Put Armstrong Floor Protectors under
furniture legs to reduce indentation.
Good rule of thumb: the heavier the
item, the wider the floor protector you
should use.
- Lay doormats at your home’s entrances to keep outside
dirt to a minimum. We strongly recommend mats
without a latex or rubber backing because these backings
can cause permanent discoloration to your flooring.
- Use Armstrong floor care products because they’ve all
been specifically developed to care for Armstrong floors.
